So I came across this really cool Kickstarter for a bowl that you can cook and eat pasta in. But I realized that this might be a very important asset for people who are low on income, have never cooked in their lives, and/or must live alone and minimally. Let me explain below:
- This bowl is multi-purpose. You can make and eat pasta with it, sure, but you can also use it to store things. You can keep fresh fruit in it. You can eat cereal out of it. You can make ramen with it. Because it has so many uses, it’s vital to have - you minimize all the bowls and pots you need to buy.
- OneBowl simplifies making pasta. I know pasta might seem like a really basic food to make, but a lot of minors and young adults don’t know how to make it. If you’ve never cooked a day in your life, then you’re probably going to google how to make pasta on wiki or so… and realize you might not have all the bowls you need. This simplifies the process and lets “newcomers” quickly start cooking. It’s really important because it bumps down the entry level in learning a new skill.
- AND it bumps down the cost. Imagine that you can use the OneBowl as a substitute for three bowls (pasta, cereal, fruit container). If you’re on a tight budget, this saves you a lot of money.
- Also, there’s a custom cook book with meals you can make with the OneBowl. Again, this simplifies cooking for people who aren’t use to cooking, and lets them make healthy meals right off the bat with little cooking experience.
So yeah. After looking through it, this could be a really important product for those of us who are at college, away from home, forced to leave home, and/or otherwise on our own for the first time and require a shoe-string budget. This is really important and will help people cut down their budget significantly while still giving them the opportunity to make excellent meals.
