It's cool there is actually a surprisingly large amount of problems with the term.

Edit for clarity: what I meant was not the term and its problematic implications are cool. It is cool as in ok that you didn't call them all right away.

it has misogynistic undertones as well.

cisnormative, ableist, and bi erasing.

I have heard that it has bad connotations re: race. I saw it addressed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8DpvSOrAvI

Not a good term at all.

I wasn't aware people used breeder as anything other than a condescending/insulting way.

I didn't realize people used the term to describe people at all.

I got major side-eye for identity-based insults in general regardless of privilege or whatever. It's puerile.

do you think I should bring it up on SRSD or with the angelles?

Have they been using "breeder"? :( I never used to see that term thrown around there before. I feel like there were usually enough B and T folks around to call that shit out? I don't know I hardly ever go to SRS anymore but that is disappointing if so.

This has definately come up in SRSD before and the general consensus that it was definately shit as all hell.

It's surprisingly (?) difficult to insult people without bringing to bear some kind of societal prejudice. "Breeders!" as an insult gains its force by comparing people to animals, which is a way racism and classicism have routinely operated for centuries. :(

It's also just a mean term to use in general. Are heterosexual couples nothing more than "breeders" because they can (usually) reproduce?

i know a fundamentalist, right wing jerkwad who identifies herself as a fundamentalist 'superbreeder'

she's got 5 kids and shows no sign of stopping. it's like a thing she's doing intentionally, you know, god's work.
