I hate this movie so much and I'm sorry, if I had known I could have stopped you. I'm so sorry I hope this never happens again...

the movie was such a trojan horse with that shit. You could easily take the premise from the first part and use it to show a completely fucked up relationship from both sides, but then it just ramps everything up and makes everyone awful because people just like watching awful characters act awful for no fucking reason.

The husband is a piece of shit in a way that's really common, Amy was dangerous in a way that most women are not. Way irresponsible imho

that and the fact that they devote part of the movie to him learning how to be deceitful while it's just innate to her.

I knew there was a reason I didn't want to see this movie. All the warning bells were going off.

I got curious because I didn't know what that movie was, so I looked it up on Wikipedia and the Gender Themes section (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gone_Girl_(film)#Gender_Themes) is a bunch of fucking gobbledygook. Like, was anyone ever fucking arguing that women don't have the capacity to be shitty, ever? "Simultaneously misogynist and misandrist"? What the fuck does that mean? That just sounds like sociopathy to me.

Thanks for the warning tho don't watch Gone Girl and also don't trust people who do.

Np. It's also just masquerading as a smart film. The characters all talk like they're really educated but the plot constantly hinges on twists and shock value, especially towards the end.
