What do they sound like ??

Also thank u for not joking that I should play "house music" bc they specifically requested "light on the club jams" and that kinda made me a little sad

the real estate agents. no seriously.

so you know die antwoord right? all of ninja/watkin tudor jones' projects back in the day got released as The Real Estate Agents but basically its the half constructed beats for the next 10 years of their music.

also this is only sort of a suggestion but i feel like anything /ambient/ would work. like maybe throw on some aphex twin if you're feeling like it's not too fast. idk real estate music is so weird it got kinda it's own genre in vaporwave but that's mostly just a comment on how weird it is generally so i feel like playing real ambient music would offset the "this is weird real estate music" part

idk. i've literally never been to an open house with a dj

It's not an open house it's a "Customer Appreciation" event at a bar. They specifically asked for a solid base of recognizable pop music, but I've never played a set for a crowd where the unifying characteristic is that they are all homeowners.

I should also mention that this is the neighborhood with the serial killer :o

The only serial killer music I know most about is that AOR stuff the guy in American Psycho used to spend whole chapters rambling about

I saw shy fx and he was playing mostly jump-up, broke my heart! Locally there's a proper jungle scene tho

Yea if there's a real propa jungle scene around here, I haven't found it. But oddly enough people get down when I play jungle. I guess it's ok because that shit just ends up in the dollarbin for me to salvage.

There's starting to be a nice soulful house scene springing up, so I've just been trying to soak up those kinds of vibes lately
