I don’t trust that all voted for Hillary Clinton or recognized the unprecedented threat of Donald Trump. I don’t trust that they understood this was an election to do everything in our power to keep him out of the White House—too important to throw a vote away on Jill Stein or write in your mother’s name on the ballot.

honey if there's one thing i'm confident believing about the people who were at the women's march, it's that they all voted for hillary fucking clinton. lol

is she getting paid by the word or something

lol, that paragraph isn't about Trump voters, it's about about non- or Jill Stein voters. Lots of those folks were definitely there!

I don't think "if you didn't vote for Clinton you voted for Trump" is a productive message, but I also don't think the writer is being unfair.

Well, yeah. Nobody would be voting for and protesting trump at the same time. My point is that being McCarthyist about whether or not these protesters voted for the Right Candidate For Social Justice or whatever the fuck is absurd, especially when the Women's March on Washington was dominated by democrats and democratic party voices. People held up cardboard cutouts of Hillary Clinton. Madonna was up there on stage. They were hugging cops. There was literally nothing to suggest that this protest wasn't just a Democratic party rally, prior to or during the march.

I definitely think the writer is being unfair! Tarring everyone who did not vote for HRC in the 2016 election as people who Don't Understand How Serious This Is, Guys is misguided ideological bullshit. People who are left of the Democrats are and have been out here doing real shit for social justice since the Bush years. I feel like if she wants to oppose people who don't really actually give a fuck about real actual change, she should look at the liberals who proudly voted for Clinton. More often than not, the people who were out there advocating voting third party or non voting understood the politics behind their actions.

(Also, sneering about people who had the temerity to vote third party in the Most Important Election In The Universe is crazy considering that prior to the election just about every other smug pundit on the planet was predicting that the election was going to be a landslide in HRC's favour. Back then, it sounded like there was no better election to vote third party, or not vote at all, because Qween Killary had this shit on lockdown!!!!)
